No construction at ACS today or tomorrow, due to the very cold temps and wind. This will be the 3rd and 4th days missed, though many workers choose to work longer hours to make it up.
Despite this, work continues as planned. Heating and AC is installed. The upper deck expansion is about 50% complete. After that the retractable roof track will be put in place, and then the roof itself, all five sections. Then, only the Hooters patio and cosmetic work will remain.
The goal for completion is May 1st, but if the weather cooperates, work could be finished far earlier.
--End of January update: Upper deck expansion about 2/3rd's complete. Estimated completion date April 11th. Work will continue at 1PM Monday, 2/3.

January 10, 2014 American Pride press release, fiscal statement
Fiscal year ended 12/26/13.
Stock price as of close of market 12/26/13 was $29.85.
Total revenue was $37.65B. Profit was $1.57B or $1.46 per share.
For the upcoming fiscal year, which will end 1/1/15, American Pride is estimating profit of $1.51B, or $1.40 a share, on revenues of $39.5B. Next year's fiscal year will have 53 weeks, as opposed to 52, which we have had since the start of the company, except for when we adjusted our fiscal year to closely match the calendar year. This a relatively conservative outlook, which we have based on the following factors:
1. Our sports network will be in its early stages, and suffering negative cash flow this fiscal year. They will also have many one time only start up costs.
2. We will have remodel and construction costs related to our transition from Libertys to Freedoms.
3. Higher health insurance costs for many Americans will limit their discretionary income in 2014.
4. Biggby will be expanding by almost 33%, far more than before. Support and expenses will be higher.
5. Marketing for all divisions will increase, as we will continue to build our brands, regardless of possible negative short term slowdowns.
6. We experienced a one time $122M profit when we sold our small stake in Twitter. That is not a repeatable event. We are projecting a 5% increase in revenue and a 3.7% increase in profit, without including the one time Twitter sale event.
We have 223 AP Freedom theaters open, with 4154 screens. Because of our upcoming rebranding efforts, plus what we have building plans for, by the end of the year, we plan to have 998 Freedom theaters with 13735 screens. Of those, about 200 will be Freedom Night Owls, which have premium seating and a full menu. All will have a Hooters Limited in the lobby, as a meeting place and lounge for before and after the movie.
Due to rebranding, we will have about 578 Liberty theaters and 4494 screens at the end of the year, as we run about 97% of the "budget cinemas" in the USA. About 200 of those are Liberty Night Owls "cinema cafes" are open, in the upper Midwest, southern US, with expansion into the Northeast last year and in progress.
American Capitalist financial services now have 26 total offices. Began with $40M in invested funds. $35B in invested funds as of 12/26/13 . American Security Preservation, mainly involved in life insurance, annuities, and wealth preservation. Annual premiums of $3.8B. Premiums in '13 up 48% mainly through 5, 10, and 15 year annuities that paid about 1% more than standard rates and commission increase of 50% to agents. $32B in total funds.

Hooters has 714 locations worldwide, with 475 in the USA. Sales were up 6.5% in 2012, and we expect to open 50-60 more, mostly outside of the USA in 2014.
Hooters Live now has 28 locations, all in the USA, mostly in high population suburban markets. Expansion planned for 2014, about 10-15 more in USA and Australia. Live is a destination for live music 6-7 nights a week, and pool/darts/volleyball/softball/poker/trivia leagues and tournaments.
Hooters hotel in Vegas significant growth in poker and casino business, and headliners in arena. Jeff Foxworthy signed to headline six weeks through 2018, Larry the Cable Guy four weeks per year through '18, Bill Cosby, four weeks through '16, Jerry Seinfeld, four weeks through '16, Chris Rock, four weeks through '16, Jeff Ross, eight weeks through '18, Dennis Miller, four weeks through '16, Norm McDonald, four weeks through '16, LeAnn Rimes, six weeks through '16, Kelly Clarkson, four weeks through '16, Elton John, two weeks through '16, Joel Osteen, two weeks through '16. Live sports, fitness, cooking, health. Sports highlights, lots of emphasis on fantasy drafts and sports as well. Billed as a Maxim/Men's Health on TV.
Will debut with four channels. Purchased WGN America for $2.5B. Plan to use it as the #1 channel on our new sports channel, which begins 9/1/14. Name to be announced soon.
Purchased The Tennis Channel for $475M. Will continue to use it as a feature for tennis, and continue to feature live tournaments from all over the world. Will cut back on the features and the like, except for a half hour daily show. Plan to use it as the #2 channel on our new sports channel, which begins 9/1/14. Name to be announced soon.
Purchased G4 from NBCUniversal for $95M. Will be the #3 channel on our new sports/entertainment channel, which begins 9/1/14. Name to be announced soon.
Sold about 200 theaters in overloaded markets and unwanted, older properties, total of about $700M added.
We plan on continuing to grow and be a successful and profitable company. We always have been a debt-free company, as well as a charitable member of the community, state, and country. We do not plan to change that aspect of our business. Each of our establishments have a planned budget for special events for good causes that they draw from that does not affect their bonuses, if applicable. Our success is a direct correlation of our associates, and we are happy they continue to succeed with us.
Because of our expansion into TV, snacks, and moonlight mixers in 2013, we are looking to sit back and grow our business in 2014, though we are always open to adding profitable companies with room for growth. We are currently sitting on $2.43B in cash, which we utilize rather than borrowing when we wish to expand or build.
We have rewarded our associates with a gift of stock since our inception. Below is how much they would have accumulated if they had been with us since 2002, both part-time and full-time:
PT: 20 in '02 & '03 (now 540 each), 20 in '04 & '05 (now 180 each), 20 in '06-'09 (now 60 each), 50 in '10-'13--1880 shares
FT: 50 in '02 & '03 (now 1350 each), 50 in '04 & '05 (now 450 each), 50 (now 150 each) in '06-'09, 100 in '10-'13--4600 shares

WCS news/updates
Will be announcing the creation of an eight team pro soccer league for women (World Championship Soccer, WCS), which will begin play in spring, 2013. The league will own all of the teams, though teams will have individual coaching and front office staff, much of the marketing and scouting will be done by the league itself. American Pride will own the league, and cross promote it through its other entities.
All players will be paid a league minimum of $25K, with reserve squad players making $20K. 18 will dress and travel. All travel and hotels will be top notch and first class.
Rosters will be 30. Top 20 will have $25K minimum, others $20K, 25 on roster minimum. All of the USA's top, well known players are expected to commit. They will be signing personal services contracts, and can be expected to make in the $75-150K range. The best known, Hope Solo and Alex Morgan, will both be paid $350K. Tickets will be priced at about 50-75% of the MLS prices. Any remaining seats ten days before game will be given to youth groups/soccer leagues (holding back 500-1000 or so). Full houses will be seen and expected.
Sex appeal will be downplayed, uniforms will be standard, perhaps slightly altered to maximize womanly form. League will heavily promote Play 60, as well as yet unnamed program to promote female confidence and pride.
Teams will play a 22 game league schedule, with at least a home and home with each opponent. TV contracts signed with ESPN (16 games, including league title game and all-star game, Friday evenings); NBC Sports Network (2 games of the week, Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons); and Fox Sports Net (Sunday evenings).
Season will begin in mid-May, and end in mid-September.
Teams will be located in:
Boston
