Wisconsin MLS Soccer Now!!
Wisconsin MLS movement
Team will be majority owned by Bryan Price, who purchased the Crew in 2005. While he is in political office, it will be placed in the same trust as the Crew.
Team will play in American Capitalist Stadium on the outskirts of the Southern Wisconsin University campus.
Opening April 27th, 2013, 10AM, online only at wimlsnow.com
$100 deposit for season ticket seat licenses, gets you on the list early. Money is refundable upon request within sixty days. Goal is 15K deposits. Since American Capitalist Stadium will seat about 25K, we will stop taking deposits when we reach 20K. When Wisconsin MLS is awarded a team, those on the top of the list will be required to purchase some sort of license plan. They are non-transferable, except to close relatives (spouse, children, parents) if the license holder passes away.
First come, first served. Limit of eight per company, four per individual. Individual, corporate and business accounts wishing to purchase suites or more than eight seat licenses should contact tickets@wimlsnow.com for special instructions. The earlier you deposit, the higher on the priority list you will be for tickets. For example, the first person to deposit $100 will be #1 on the list. That person chooses 2...they are required to pay $200. That money is refundable at any time, but they will be removed from the list when their money is refunded.
We are in communication with the MLS and have presented our proposal to begin play as early as 2014.
At this moment, Mr. Price is the majority owner of Sporting Kansas City of the MLS. Within 90 days of being awarded the Wisconsin MLS franchise, Mr. Price will divest his holdings in Sporting Kansas City.

No April Fool's Day joke here. Milwaukee wants a MLS expansion team, and has the big money and political power of Bryan Price behind it. Not only do they have a brand new stadium in place, expandable and retractable roof ready, they will begin taking deposits before the end of the month.
Price owns the Brewers and is building his own tuition free university, which is where the new stadium is. He is in the governor's mansion until 2014, and if he wants to be, 2018 seems very likely, as he received over 60% of the vote in the recall brought against him last summer. Even after selling many of his American Pride shares to fund the initial construction of Southern Wisconsin University, his estimated worth is still over $4.5B.
Price wants to own the MLS team himself, as he does the Brewers, so profit/loss is not a big deal to him...American Pride owns several sports entities, including the new WCS women's pro soccer league, the Newcastle United EPL franchise, and a AAA minor league franchise less than an hour from Milwaukee.
American Capitalist Stadium is said to be one of the finest ever built for its size (29K capacity, expandable to 38K); wide padded seats, all seating areas covered. Many feel Price is speaking up to be the backup plan in case the Queens soccer facility the MLS wants to be the 20th team falls through.
At worst, he currently has the stadium, and will soon have thousands of deposits in place (heck, Price's companies alone could purchase a huge amount). In one press release, Milwaukee appears to have jumped to the top of the MLS expansion list.

In less than 24 hours, the group known as Wisconsin MLS Now will begin selling season ticket deposits for a team that does not exist, and may never exist. They have already taken in about 2500 deposits for suites and group requests (5+ for individuals, 9+ for businesses), though those will not be at the top of the list...those coveted spots will go online tomorrow at 10AM.
This is almost a marketing experiment gone awry, as Bryan Price's group has spent millions...some say up to $10M, on a campaign that has created a fever pitch for tickets in a city in which has never been mentioned as a hotbed for pro soccer and, to the best of our knowledge, has never been seriously considered as a future home for MLS. Radio saturation, TV, print, billboards, as well as stunning online ad proliferation have people just wishing the day of truth will pass. Many wonder if this "created demand" will lead many to put down a deposit (which is fully refundable at any time) to just be a part of it or to maybe even buy tickets in hopes of reselling them.
Price is mega-wealthy, of course. He owns the Brewers, as well as Sporting Kansas City, which he will sell upon being awarded a Milwaukee area MLS franchise. His conglomerate, American Pride, was began with $50M less than fifteen years ago, and is now a $50B company, 1000 times more. It is almost a perfect example of the American dream. He has the money to spend, and has chosen to do so. He may have a how-to list, if he's successful in acquiring a franchise.
We'll see how many deposits they get this weekend, though they many not announce it. Many seem to think they will hit their limit, 15K, very quickly; within a day, two days, or less than a week.

And it is done. Wisconsin MLS Now took 22K $100 deposits for season tickets in just over three hours today. While the deposits are refundable for any reason, it is still very impressive that a team no one had hardly dreamed of a month ago, and may never exist mind you, took in $2.2M.
This may be used as an example of how to create a buzz, as unheard of amounts of advertising (estimates of $10M keep getting thrown around), especially radio and billboards (over 600 billboards within an hour of the Milwaukee metro, and seemingly, every commercial break on many stations included a thirty second spot imploring people to "get your name on the top of the list."), not to mention unheard of amounts of social media.
Email to friends, season ticket holders, May 10th, 2013
Thank you for your unprecedented support. We have a list of 22,000 people strong that want to buy season tickets for future MLS games in Wisconsin. Let's rundown where we are:
*Yes, we will be taking more deposits. Like us on Facebook, sign up for our Twitter updates, and/or sign up for e-mail messages.
*Yes, we will be playing soccer in 2014. It may be in the MLS, but that is doubtful, as they tend to move cautiously. More than likely, it will be in one of the minor leagues in US soccer, most likely the NASL or USL Pro. We will also have US Open Cup games, exhibitions versus MLS teams, as well as other professional teams, from Europe, South America, and so on.
*Season ticket holders will have two choices...they can buy season tickets for the team, or they can pass.
*We'll be having a season ticket holder event at the stadium as soon as construction is completed, likely June/July this summer. You can check out sight lines and decide on your seat location.
*Mike Anhaeuser has been hired as the team's first head coach, and signed to a five season contract, through 2018. Pat Ercoli has been hired as the team's first GM, and signed to a five season contraxct, through 2018.
*The voting for the team name will be in the month of July...keep sending in your names, along with your $1 to Make A Wish. So far, Wisconsin United, Wisconsin Warriors are leading.

The team colors and kits will mirror the Warriors, but a 2nd alternate, deep pink/black top, gray outline, light pink shorts.

Thank you for the visitors this weekend. On Friday/Saturday, about half of those on our season ticket list took a look around, and about 7500 picked out their seats, on either a full or partial season plan. About 500 more didn't make it to the stadium, but still picked out seats. Thank you for your belief in us.
Then, on Sunday/Monday, we opened up to the public, those that missed getting on the list. We had 12K take the tour, and added another 7K to the list...along with 3K more over the phone and online. We now have just over 31K deposits (a few have requested refunds). Of those 10K, about 2200 picked seats.
We also had requests for those hoping to support the War Eagles only, on what to do. Season tickets will go on sale soon.
In a few weeks, we will release seats to the public for the soccer match and the concert. In the meantime, keep checking in for updates.

I felt it was probably time to comment on the ongoing MLS expansion process. FYNYC has already been named as the 20th team, and will begin play in 2015. Another team (or teams) may also begin play in '15, but that has not been announced.
This past week, Orlando had funding for their soccer specific stadium approved. They have commented publicly they hope to be the 21st team, and begin play in 2015.
Where do we stand? We are the Wisconsin Warriors. We have a state of the art, as good as any ever built, soccer stadium that is ready to go. Right now, it's capacity is about 30K, but it will be expanded by the end of 2014 to hold about 40K. Every seat is cushioned, comfortable, and ready for MLS action.
It has been thoroughly tested in Southern Wisconsin University football games, and it is as good as it gets; from the sight lines to being as close to the action as any stadium in the world; to the wide, roomy concourses; to the concession stands that have the finest equipment of any of the finest restaurant kitchens in the world.
We have been in touch with MLS from day one, before we even made it public that we were forming a team. We feel we are, by far, the most prepared of any of the proposed expansion cities, including New York, which plans to play several seasons in Yankees Stadium, which was obviously built for and designed for baseball.
In early 2014, we will play our first game in the NASL, a second tier US soccer league. We will put an entertaining and quality product on the field. We are ready, as early as 2015, to field a MLS team. We are building that team today, and have building blocks in place. We plan to be second to none, with our facilities, our training, and our fan base. We have over 12K full season ticket equivalents in place, and have not yet marketed or sold any single game tickets yet (we will begin the Monday after Thanksgiving, either as vouchers or as single game tickets if the NASL gets us our home dates before then.
No one thought the Brewers could ever draw 3M people in a season. We have twice. We will pack American Capitalist Stadium, and the atmosphere will be as good as exists in the world. We have sent management to Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Kansas City, and those same people will take in games in Europe, Mexico, and Asia this winter. We can't create the noise, but we can set up our fans for success. We will have NASL games and several friendlies next year. We will also have WCS, the best women's soccer in the world.
And, we just might host our first national team game next season as well. No promises, but it is being discussed. Nothing is impossible if you can dream it.
Do we get impatient? Yes. We want a MLS team yesterday. We will get one. And when we do, we will celebrate the day, and immediately begin planning for our first season and game.
We'll see you on the pitch.

American Pride press release, 11/22/13, 3PM
As of 2014, our Hooters Night Owl cinema cafes and Liberty theater chains will be closed on Tuesdays. This is one of our slower days of the week; it does not interfere with federal holidays which are often observed on Mondays, and it also does not interfere with many of our staff's "weekender" schedule, in which they work Friday-Sunday, do charity work on Monday or Thursday, and enjoy three plus consecutive days off, a rarity in the service industries.
American Pride press release, 11/22/13, 3:15PM
In early 2014, some of the Liberty theaters will transform into Freedom theaters. Many will have to undergo remodels before reopening as a Freedom.
There are 152 Liberty theaters that will be changing over. All have at last 8 screens, and many have 10 or 12. All together, it will be 152 locations and 1486 screens making this transition. We will be adding 38 more screens as well. About 100 of these theaters will be transforming into Freedom Night Owl locations, with premium seating and a full menu. All the Freedom Night Owl theaters will have a Hooters restaurant in the lobby. Freedom theaters that are not cobranded as Freedom Night Owl theaters will have a bar/lounge attached that will be called Hooters Limited, which will offer wings, burgers, and specials, along with drinks. It's a perfect place to meet your friends or pick up a bit to eat before or after the movie.
We are making this change because as we look to acquire first run theaters, we have had trouble finding properties to expand.
In May, 2014 Freedom should have 393 theaters with 6038 screens. It will be the #2 movie theater chain in the USA, based on number of screens, and #1 in terms of quality. We expect our clientele to drive past other theaters to experience what Freedom offers....the best in the business.
